French Majolica Planter

Flaking of Glazing – Circa 1950
This beautiful French majolica urn from the South of France has a yellow glaze and wonderful ornamentation. The handles are double c-scrolls with a rim of egg and dart design. The body has gadrooned lobes topped with rope and beads and the pedestal base repeats the egg and dart and rope ornamentation. There are four French dolphins at each corner of the base.
