Blown Glass Frontage – Previous Restorations; Bun feet added at a later date; 2 finials missing; small piece of glass missing on right hand bottom corner– all consistent with age-Late 1600’s or earlier

This hand painted wooden small display cabinet is from the late 1600’s. The glass front is antique blown glass. The interior has primitively painted and glazed paper on the back and sides, while the bottom is covered in a pale green silk moiré fabric with rope trim. The profile has a central dome with canted corners supported by four stepped out pilasters and stylized ionic capitals painted gold. Still colorful with its mixture of warm and cool tone colors, this 17th C. Italian tabletop display cabinet will highlight any surface it is placed upon.
