Antique French Carousel Horse with Seat-Late 1800s/Turn of Century |
Condition: Weathering and chipping to original paint, age separations to wood, reigns and seat belt missing ; glass eyes; hole on bottom of seat where carousel post would have been. Age: Late 1800’s to Early 1900’s. This delightful and charming children’s French carousel horse has a red seat with a back instead of a saddle. The horse is white with grey markings around the eyes, ears, mane, legs, feet and tail. The seat and bridle are red as is the saddle flap with an aqua saddlebag and post holder. His glass eyes are amber with a black pupil, This size wooden horse has a seat with a backrest and was meant for the “very young” to be able to ride on the carousel without falling off a larger saddled wooden horse. It has its original paint which is weathered and chipped. This would be a wonderful conversation piece for any lover of antique carousel horses. |
