The lower portion of this hand forged iron lutrin is quite old. Only the actual book holder section has been recently added. It is from the Alpes Martime region of France.

Very Good Antique Condition – Rusting to Iron – Late 1800’s. This beautifully hand wrought iron antique French Lutrin (Book or Music Stand) has candleholders on either side of the open-worked, rectangular strapped and tilted holder.  These candleholders allowed light to fall on the music or book so the user could see in dim light.
The hand hammered central terminal has a scrolled top attached to the tilted holder and a scrolled hook for hanging accessories.  There is a turned round ornament and four shaped legs with scrolls at the top and flattened feet at the bottom.
