An Antique Napoleon III, Blue and White Faience Mantel Clock in the Rococo Style with Enameled Clock Face -  Condition: Good Antique Condition; minor nicks and crazing to glaze, hairline crack top back; clock mechanism is in working condition; Mark of clockmaker is on back of mechanism but it has worn and is therefore unreadable; 3 sets of numbers on back.
The genre style painted scene on the front is of a young couple reading a book in a field.  There is a fence and trees in the background and a body of water to the left.  The back is painted with a scene of a sailboat on the water, with shoreline trees and shrubs.  There are floral and foliate motifs throughout the rest of the clock.  The ornamentation of c-scrolls and attenuated acanthus leaves is highlighted in blues on white ground.
