An 18th Century Boulle Style Table Pedestal

A Rare 18th C.  Antique French Boulle Style Small Pedestal; Bronze, Brass, Ebony and Tortoiseshell– Fair Condition but Commensurate with  Age – Loss of brass and ebony inlay; minor loss to wood where brass molding is missing.

This rare Boulle style pedestal is from the late 1700’s or earlier.  Rare, in that few pieces survived from the 18th C. due to the fragility of the inlay work.  There is tiny incising on the brass, fine detailing on the ebony and the bronze casting has been done well.  There is tortoiseshell inlay surrounding the mask or woman’s face. Minor polishing was done in its history.
