Copper over Brass Wine Pitcher on Mixed Metal Base –Age:  1700’s
 
This rare antique French repousse copper wine pitcher features a ciel de lit holding drapery and falling to either side of the Coat of Arm’s elements on the front.  There is a crown over a fleur de lis, a bird, crossed twin flags and a four part compartmented element, flanked by griffins.  Acanthus leaf scrolls are interspersed throughout.  The back has a stylized acanthus fleur de lis shape with the handle being the top petal.  There is a mark on the bottom which is indistinguishable.

  Condition: Old Welding Restorations; Wear in areas with brass showing through
