Situated at 18 Malakoff at Fives in Lille, France, the factory of Fives-Lille (often referred to as the “Fives” pottery, barbotine, and majolica) was founded by Gustave De Bruyn in 1864.   It was known for its high quality vases with high relief flowers, chandeliers, cache-pots, umbrella stands, planters, humidors, and wall items.  The “ Fives” glazes and  bright colors are very realistic.  It closed in 1962.

This beautiful barbotine wall platter displays a stem of two beautiful pink/red roses and green leaves in high relief.  The ground colors of the platter range from cream, pale blue, pink, pale greens, deep greens, and browns.  The colors are very realistic and bright. This platter could be placed in a display holder or hung on the wall and is highly collectible.
