FRANCE, Late 1800s

This pair of magnificent antique French Carrera marble coupes has been set into patinated bronze holders in the shape of decorated urns.  The two handles of the bronze urns feature the face of Bacchus surrounded by knotted beribboned grapevines bearing grapes at the upper convex portion of the coupes.  The remaining ornamentation is gadrooned acanthus leaves and wave scrolls.

Each of these antique French bronze urns with marble coupes has a height of 17-1/4”, which makes a commanding statement wherever they would be placed. Condition:  Old restorations to bronze holders; Minor scratches, rubs and water discoloration to interior of marble
