A Pair of Antique French Gros Relief Barbotine Vases

Condition: Old restorations- Minor glaze losses, leaves, flowers, and ground colors; slight chip to a  few leaves.

Theodore LeFront began working with faience and porcelaine in an atelier in Fontainebleau in 1860.  He had several apprenticeships with various other porcelain ateliers until opening his own in 1872.  Numerous exposition medals were awarded LeFront between 1866 and 1884 for his pieces.  This pair of vases featuring stems of roses and blue marguerites in various states of bloom.  They are all done in high and low relief against a colored ground of brown/black and medium peach melding into eachother.
Collectors of gros relief barbotine by LeFront will find this pair very desireable.
