Mounted on Painted Wooden Bases – Fair Condition-Old Restorations to Horse Legs; Tail, Sword and One Rein Missing– Late 1800’s

These fabulous antique statues feature two Roman soldiers on horseback in their quest to locate a certain destination.  One soldier is motioning to the other towards the direction they should pursue. These are antique casts after originals.  They have been finely detailed, with beautiful ornamentation.  The anatomies of both the soldiers and horses are in excellent proportion and the overall movement depicted by the artist is superb.

These will capture the attention of anyone viewing them.  Versatile in their use, they could also be mounted as table lamps on a lamp base housing the wiring receptacle behind the statue.
