Glazed Ceramique Blanche Jardiniere– Marked to bottom- 188 M beside Double L marking–We do not know what 188 depicts. Good antique Condition –Consistent with age, it has had restoration, three finger tips chipped – rubbing to glaze throughout.

This antique glazed ceramique blanche (white) jardinière portrays Chinoiserie figures in costume whimsically playing around a woven basket. In their play, a hat of the one of the figures has landed on the ground to his left. The basket has an oval center panel faintly incised with an oriental scene to replicate a painted panel.
