Antique Jail Door from France

This is an actual antique jail door from 18th century France! It is quite short at just 64 inches tall, but it is adorned with heavy iron locking devices and a small center iron panel. The panel opens and closes, and was probably used to pass food along to inmates.

Nowadays, it could be used as a wine entrance door, garden door, or decorative architectural element. You will not run across another one of these doors.
