This is a stunning 18th C. French hand carved architectural made from Walnut wood.  It features a cartouche with the letters M over A in relief and an enchapeau relief molding over this.  This is flanked by gadrooned acanthus leaves, gadrooned c-scroll acanthus leaves at the bottom and graceful acanthus leaf s-scrolls at the top.  Beautifully hand carved palm fronds flank either side of the cartouche.  Antique French architectural fragments can be used as overdoors, wall art, or placed in bibliotheques or display pieces.
