Pair of Plaques Made from Blue and White Antique Tiles |
A Pair of 18th C. Plaques Comprised of Antique Portuguese Blue and White Tiles. -Condition: Commensurate with age – Late 1700’s - Tiles are attached to board but seams are not grouted-Nicks and chips around each tile. These two panels of 18th C. individually mounted Portuguese hand painted blue and white tiles depict an overall scene of draped putti on a pedestal raising a cornucopia of fruit. The putti are surrounded by c-scrolls on a diagonally patterned ground. The tiles have been inset into a wooden backed and framed mount. These would be wonderful hung on the wall or used as a frame for a backsplash. As an addition to this pair, see Code 410-59 |
