Pair of 18th C. French Giltwood Architecturals |
This magnificent pair of antique French giltwood architecturals are in the form of cartouches flanked and topped with acanthus leaves. The central medallion has been painted a rich red and is surrounded by a garland of laurel leaves and flowers. Architecturals are used as accessories on walls, as overdoors, or tabletop art. Eighteenth Century French architecturals are considered rare and difficult to find, particularly in pairs. This beautiful pair will be an attribute to any home. These are very old pieces and the condition is commensurate with age. There are losses to gilding and paint throughout. Age seprations are also present. One is slightly wider than the other, but could easily be cut down to match. |
