French Cabinet Converted from a Lit Clos Frontage
This interesting piece is now a French cabinet. It has been converted from an antique French lit clos frontage. It is made of mixed woods-Walnut and Chestnut.
A "lit-close" was a multi-functioning piece of furniture used in old France (mostly Brittany). It would serve as the armoire, bed, cabinet, and trunk. The bed would be enclosed by the sliding door, making sleeping a bit more comfortable and private in the old stone rooms. Today, it would be perfect for a big screen TV or library...
