A French Louis XIV Style Parcel Paint Bibliotheque – 18th Century Elements Upper Frontage – Casing 20th Century – Good Antique Condition –

This wonderful  French  parcel paint bibliotheque (library) has 18th century elements in the Louis XIV style.  The old pilasters with  stylized Corinthian half capitals border the open interior with three shelves. Beneath the stepped out crown,  a central stylized shell with asymmetrical c-scroll borders to either side, detail the the top of this magnificent bookcase.  The entire piece rests upon frontal bun feet with block feet to the back, as is the case in 18th century bibliotheques. The parcel paint finish is very much in demand, and is also difficult to achieve, as it replicates centuries old finishes.
