Antique Louis XV Style Walnut Wood Bonnetiere

This piece originates from late 19thC. France. The intricate, deep carves are in excellent condition, and there is no glass in the door. This beautifully appointed bonnetiere (originally a narrow armoire for women’s hats) has extreme relief and deep carving on its bottom panel. Stylized acanthus leaves radiate from a cartouche with scrolling foliage and flowers surrounding it.  Gadrooned ornamentation runs along the curved corners.  A stepped out apron mimics a larger stepped out cornice at its top.  The piece rests upon 2 front bun feet and two back straight legs.
