Antique Bench from France
This is antique primitive bench with storage underneath the seat. It is in good condition, except for some scratching to the surface. However, this is more than expected, due to its age--circa 1800.
The bench has a plain, inverted paneled back. The seat has two hinged leather tabbed panels which open for storage below. The enclosed bench is of plank construction on block feet. The could be used for a banquette in a kitchen, hall bench, toy bench or as boot storage in a mud room.
