Louis XV-Style Polychromed Stool, Fourth Quarter 19th century

(Foot Stool) with Aubusson Patterned Needlepoint Upholstery- Good Antique Condition – rubs to paint – minor loss to needlepoint - last quarter 1800’s.
This wonderful antique French, Louis XV Style rectangular painted tabouret, or foot stool, with needlepoint upholstery in an Aubusson pattern.  There are six cabriole legs with scroll feet.  The painted rails are decorated with flowers and florets and scrolling stylized c-scrolls.  The paint color is that “famous” French pale green.  The needlepoint upholstery is an Aubusson pattern with a cream colored open field and center medallion. The border is rose colored with interspersing c-scrolls, stylized shells, flowers and foliage in golds, greens, blues, pinks and creams.  The center medallion is a long swag of flowers and foliage in the same colors of the border.
