This pair of Louis XIII style arm chairs are called "fauteuils a haut dossier" in France.  They are armchairs with high rectangular backs having no wood surrounds.  Their walnut wood arms curve downward and they have classical turned stretchers and legs atop bun feet.  They have been upholstered in tapestry attached to the frame with brass nailheads.
