Needlepoint Upholstery and Inverted Petal and Dart Bronze Nailheads – Condition:  Minor fraying  of Gimp and Needlepoint; Minor holes on back material – Late 1800s

These handsome antique French Louis XIII Style armchairs have beautiful and deep hand-carved details throughout.  The acanthus leaf arms end in the shapes of s-scrolls.  The H-shaped stretchers and legs are octagonal and decrease in diameter where they join.  There are four sided palmette motifs and acanthus leaves at these junctures.  The bronze petal and dart nailheads affix the needlepoint to the chair frames. 
These are very comfortable chairs which can be used in a variety of ways.
