Antique Confiturier from the Alsace Region-18th C.

This antique confiturier is from the Alsace region of France. Confituriers were originally used as storage pieces for jams, jellies, and preserves. This particular piece is made of European Oak, it's in very good condition, and it is circa 1800. The lines are strong and simplistic. It makes a statement without flourish. It is also very versatile-it could be used as a narrow buffet, a powder bath sink, a base for accessories, an entrance piece, etc...
