This charming French confiturier with one door and one drawer was originally used for storage of confit or preserved food.  It has ornamentation or a flower basket, ribbons and bows , floral and scrolling foliate vines, drapery swag,  drapery tassels, florets and a stylized shell.  The corners are rounded and similarly decorated.  The feet are scrolled acanthus leaves.  Today these versatile small pieces can be used for a variety of purposes as they are small and easily placed.

Condition:  Old restorations; minor rubs and nicks to wood. Circa 1900.
