Louis XV Style 'Sauteuse' Commode from France C. 1900

This is Antique French Louis XV Style, Two Drawer Commode on long legs, known in France as a "Sauteuse". Bronze Hardware- Very Good Antique Condition – Minor Rubs to Wood – This piece was varnished or sealed in a high sheen at some point in its history- Circa 1900

The overall front and sides form a an elegant s-curve. The  s-curve on the side panels are interrupted by the continuation of the front transverse rail, accenting the inverted curve at the top drawer and bombe at the bottom drawer.  The body rests upon four high cabriole legs and scrolled feet. The two drawers have pierced decorative bronze handles with stylized masks and mascarpone.  There is a shaped apron with a central pierced carved shell.
