This antique French Louis XIII style games table has a fold out top that is covered with a faux suede material affixed to the wooden top with brass nail heads.  There are square wooden pieces which slide out to hold the extended top on either side.   There is a central drawer with bronze escutcheon plate around a key hole. The ornamentation is typical of Louis XIII style, with an apron of hand carved foliate motifs, stylized shells, lunettes with c-scrolls and turn legs with ball feet.
This versatile antique French game table could also be used as a small writing desk.
