Ornamented Cast Iron Base and Marble Top – Chipping to paint; One corner finial missing; – 19th C.
This lovely antique French pastry table has a marble top with a painted iron base. The apron has stylized fleur-de-lys formed with c-and s-scrolls and a central volute with fleur-de-lys drop. The legs are large c-scrolls on either side connected with round rods and central palmette finial.
French pastry tables are versatile in their uses: they, of course are still used for making pastry; they can be installed as a kitchen island; or they can be used as a beautiful piece of furniture with accessories placed upon the marble.
