18th C. French Farm Table of Fruitwood and European Oak |
Good Condition Commensurate with Age - 18th C. or earlier; beautifully done old inset block restorations to top; rubs and knicks throughout. This majestic antique French farm table has a rectangular top, which is 1-1/2” thick, made with only two planks above a frieze with an end drawer and small side drawer for utensils. The end drawer measures 47” in length—almost half the length of the table! The top and frieze is supported by four block legs connected by two end stretchers and one long stretcher. One and two plank tables (but never three) were also called refectory tables. This antique French farm table will seat 8- 10 comfortably depending upon the width of the chairs. |
