This versatile antique French trunk with a geometrically designed frontage and flat top is made from prized French walnut wood.  Historically, smaller trunks with flat tops were easily transported by horse drawn wagons to the owner’s country house from their main chateau. The trunk was one of the most prevalent forms of furniture seen in chateaus during medieval times  The ornamentation is that of the Louis XIII period  with diagonal raised panels and simplistic incised floral design.

This beautiful trunk can be used as an end table or it original use as a functional or decorative trunk. Condition:  Antique Condition with rubs and nicks throughout. Previous restorations also present.
