Antique Chest from Europe Hand Forged Ironwork 3 Handles

An Antique European Table Top Trunk with Hand Forged Iron Hardware – 3 Handles – Good Antique Condition – rubs to wood – Original Lock – No Key - 18th Century. This wonderful  European table top trunk has hand forged iron strapping and ornamentation.  These versatile little trunks are great for display as well as their original use, storage of valuables.  Small trunks were easily transportable between summer and winter residences and were popular from the 1600’s – 1800’s.  There are visible grooves in the interior walls of the trunk indicating dividers for compartments once housed this piece.
