A Massive Hand Carved Trunk with Coat of Arms on Top- Walnut Wood; Condition:  Good antique condition-Previous restorations, age separations, minor losses to wood ornamentation, rubs, nicks all commensurate with age --Circa 1830--

This resplendent work of hand carved ornamentation has motifs of the neo gothic style of ornamentation. This is by far, one of the most beautiful trunks we have ever had.  Too many varying motifs to mention, we would be happy to supply you with even more photos than we have exhibited, should you have an interest in this trunk.
Of particular note, however, is the top which has a central Coat of Arms panel featuring supporters of rampant lions astride a shield with stripes having the scales of justice on one side and a sword and plume on the other side.  Surrounding the shield are more motifs of neo gothic ornamentation and a canted crest.  The interior has two open accessory boxes on either side and the rest of the interior is open storage space. This antique French trunk will be a major addition to any collection.
