Antique Clay Terrines from France
We believe these are late 19th century terrines from France. The word "terrine" comes from the French word "terre", which means earth, and refers to the earthenware dish. These French terrines with their rich glaze and strong clay could withstand oven warming without cracking. Today, these can be used as serving dishes. The terrines pictured above have small chips mainly around the rims. Please contact us if you would like additional photos.
