FRANCE, Early 1800s

This beautifully adorned gilt bronze candlestick holder from France has foliate patterns, floral patterns, beading, pinecones, rais-de-coeur, scrolling leaves, winged dogs and dog faces.  The center pic is for attaching the candle and keeping it in place while it is burning. 

The candlestick is gilt bronze and will bring a wonderful highlight anywhere it is placed. There is some tarnish and rubs to the bronze commensurate with its age.
