A Large Pair of French Louis XVI Style,  Parcel White Paint with Parcel Gilt, Single Arm Sconces Representing Musical Trophies  - Re-editions - Distressed on Purpose – Circa 20th C.

This magnificent pair of French painted single- arm sconces are in the Louis XVI style and are painted white (purposely distressed) with parcel gilt showing through.  The ornamentation is a musical trophy of a flute, violin and horn laying upon a scroll representing music.  The single arm is decorated with attenuated acanthus leaves and projects from a patera of water leaves.  There is the classic knotted ribbon at the top and  vines of flowers running along  the sides.
