This beautiful pair of antique French bronze candelabras are in the Rococo style popular during the Louis XV period.   They are from the late 1800s. True Rocaille design always remained balanced, measured and most of all elegant. Ornamentation was drawn from nature with forms suggestive of rocks, shells and foliage, delighting in asymmetry, but always balanced. Later in the period, Rococo was taken to extremes. This pair  was fashioned after the true Rocaille. 
These bronze candelabras have curved cartouches, florets, c-scrolls, acanthus leaves in many styles, patterned grounds, urns, pierced ornamentation and much more. The bronze has been aged with time.  It could either be totally polished to remove the oxidation or left as is with its true ageing with the relief portions polished.

Condition:  Oxidation consistent with age.
