This is a pair of large iron andirons from 19th century France. At 32 inches tall, they must have been designed for a sizable fireplace, likely in a chateau. Each one has been beautifully hand wrought with unique scrolling designs. At the top of each andiron is a culmination of 16 individually scrolled iron bands with hand hammered gadrooning. The combined weight is 96 lbs.
