A Pair of Antique French Hand Wrought Andirons from Limoges – Recently
Sealed – Good Antique Condition Commensurate with Age – Wear to Hand Incised motif on feet; some wearing to iron on basket holders - C. 1750

These majestic 18th C. hand wrought andirons from the Limoges area of France have faint traces of hand incised lozenge decoration on the feet and finials.  The front column bears two iron holders for horizontal rods that would have been placed between them in the fireplace for holding the cooking pots. There is another at the bottom back.  The front top beneath its finial has an iron ring attached to a round strap of iron.

French andirons of this age and condition are difficult to find.
