Pair of Antique French Hand Forged, Wrought Iron Andirons from Normandy -
– Good Antique Condition – Minor Rusting in Areas Consistent with their Age – Late 19th C.

These antique French hand forged wrought iron andirons have beautiful ornamentation of hollow iron plate pomegranates with hand applied leaves at their tops.  Their vertical posts are solid wrought iron with stylized c-scroll leaves, and twists.  The posts rest upon two stylized s-scroll feet with a linear scoop pattern.  The log holders are ornamented  with a small ball post.

The Normandy artisans were known for their beautiful renditions of ornamentation and these antique andirons certainly represent their efforts.
