Beautiful Antique Reverse Glass Painting in Leaded Panels.
Circa 1920
This unbelievable reverse glass painting was reclaimed from a mansion in Dallas, Texas this year. The home was designed by famed architect, Anton Korn in the 1920's. The piece itself is encased in leaded panels and framed in oak. It is in excellent condition!
The previous owner of this house and painting, was Bum Bright--philanthropist and onetime owner of the Dallas Cowboys (homeowner from 1950's to 2007). No signature was found on this glass.
The subject of this painting is of a landscape scene. There is a body of water with rolling hills in the background. Along the water, you can see cypress and palm trees, with water lilies, philodendron plants, and lavender wisteria growing to the sides and top of the painting. Also, there is what appears to be a Macaw on the branch of a wisteria to the left forefront.
This piece is for the discerning buyer, and/or a lover of Dallas history.
