–Late 1600’s early 1700’s-

This majestic antique French tapestry of wool, linen and silk depicts a scene during Roman times. A warrior and maiden are walking hand in hand, through a garden with lush foliage.  There is a person with a bow and arrow (symbol of love) seated in a raised stone niche surrounded by columns to the left front of the couple. There is a play of strength and serenity represented in this wonderful tapestry.
