This is a pair of Louis XVI style, oval framed oil paintings on canvas. It is a street scene of Paris-unsigned and in excellent condition!
The scenes depict twilight activities in Paris. The wooden oval frames have the classical Louis XVI reed and ribbon. This is bordered by beading decor surrounding the paintings and topped with a central knotted ribbon design.
One painting is depicting people seated at tables having drinks. The gas-lit street is bustling with people shopping and walking along the tree-lined avenue. Storefronts are highlighted by canopies and decorative iron topped windows.
The second painting features people on a gas-lit street hailing a horse-drawn taxi, while another woman and her dog are crossing the street.
