Antique Birdcage from France-Early 1900's

Antique French,  Egg Shaped, Painted Metal, Birdcage on Stand - Good Antique Condition – chipping to paint in spots – Circa 1900

This beautiful antique French birdcage has the unusual shape of a large egg .  The hand formed metal was painted white at some point in its history.  The ornamentation is that of stylized c and s-scrolls throughout with stylized “sun”  shapes encircling the cage.  The egg rests upon a stand of elongated s-scrolls with a center opening for a flower pot.   The top has a twisted metal finial with a ring. This lovely birdcage would be beautiful indoors or outside.
