Wine Bottle Carrier Made from an Antique Travelling Trunk/Case-"Petrus" "Paris"

This rustic wine bottle holder has been made from an antique case. The maker has painted "Paris" and "Petrus" on the front of the carrier. Petrus is a red Bordeaux wine of the Pomeral appellation made almost entirely from the Merlot grape.  Petrus is now one of the most highly rated and expensive wines in the world. This wine carrier is unique from other carriers that we have had in the past in that a narrow band of metal shows us that this was once a trunk or travelling case. The metal band along the perimeter once held leather along the sides of the trunk. Today, you can still see bits of leather protruding from beneath the metal.
