A must-have for any animal lover, this 1960s French lamp features a gilt brass prancing horse on a rectangular black plinth. This color palette continues with the conical black shade that has a shimmering golden liner. From the famous French lighting company, Maison Charles of Paris, the lamp successfully blends the more modern base with a traditional sculptural form of the cheval.
Maison Charles was founded in 1908 by Ernest Charles. Multiple generations of the Charles family members have continued to lead the company, which has become a pioneer in gilt lamps inspired by nature.
CONDITION: Very good condition. Rewired for use in American homes. Minor cavitations to shade liner, which is not visible from the outside (see detail photos). Fleabites and very light rubs to base.
