More information coming soon…
Hand-carved in oak circa 1880, this French hunt buffet has a speckled black granite top that is recessed, allowing four inches of the top edges to still be seen. These edges are quarter-round moldings incised with infilled niches. The rest of the carvings are related to nature, with the highlight being the three hunt trophies on the rectangular door panels. Three belt drawers are positioned above each door, with high relief carvings of branches forming the handles.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Light rubs resulting in some faded motifs. Very light age separations. The buffet has been bleached more recently, resulting in some inconsistencies in the color, as traces of the original finish are still visible. The granite top was added more recently and is in excellent condition. Only one lock is operational (key included).
