Hand-carved in the 1800s on the island of Corsica, a territorial collective of France located in the Mediterranean, this door has a repeating chevron design, radiating from a central lozenge.  The thick door is impressive, with each segment of the lozenge and chevrons being lined up perfectly, in the vein of parquetry.

CONDITION: Good antique condition.  Commensurate age separations to the chevron and lozenge.  Minor nicks and losses.  Two gudgeons are present, but no other hardware exists.
