After the original 1826 painting, entitled La Fileuse d’Albano (“The Spinner of Albano”), by the French artist Claude Bonnefond.  The painting depicts an Italian peasant woman (Albano is an Italian commune about 15 miles from Rome), prepping her loom for weaving.  She sits in front of large doors, which are open, revealing an exotic stone-lined gazebo with mountains in the distance.

CONDITION:  Good antique condition.  Very light craquelure to canvas.  Minor losses and age separations to the gilt frame, which has been touched up.  Missing motifs to the foliate border immediately surrounding the canvas.  Not rigged for hanging.
