Dating to circa 1900, this charming French well head is a replica of an original 15th-century well covering. The original well head was owned by Francois Sauvage, who controlled the silver during the reign of Charles VIII. The original well head was moved to Musee de Cluny in Paris during the mid-1800s.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Commensurate oxidation to the overthrow, which has slightly discolored small areas of the well. Fleabites to well, with very light interior buildup.
