The subtle bombe form does not detract from the masterfully carved moldings of this walnut commode from Languedoc, France. Hand-carved in the 1700s, the compact chest of drawers (only 35 3/4 inches tall) features three tiers of drawers, each with distinct geometric carvings.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Light nicks and rubs. Traces of very small old fills, mainly to the top. No keys.
